Nikhil Boolell

Nikhil is an alumnus of the United World College of the Atlantic. He read law at the University of Exeter in England and at the Université de Rennes 1 in France, further to which he obtained an LLB in European Law. He is a scholar of the summer programme of the China University of Politics and Law. Nikhil joined the Honourable Society of Lincolns’s Inn and was called to the Bar of England and Wales  in July 2015 as a third generation member of his family. He was called to the Bar of Mauritius in September 2016.

Nikhil accepts instructions as Counsel in broad contentious matters before the Tribunals, the Industrial Court, Intermediate Court (Civil), and the Supreme Court of Mauritius. He also acts as Junior Counsel to Urmila Boolell SC in cases before the Supreme Court in areas of both public and private law. Nikhil’s practice includes pre- litigation opinions and advice to domestic and international companies on commercial issues in Mauritian civil law. He also delivers legal training to non legal professionals on various topics relating to insolvency, company and employment law.
