As a seasoned and credible corporate house, Temple Group wishes to make useful contributions to the Mauritian workforce, by welcoming, inducting and moulding fresh law graduates, into sound executives, fully trained and conversant with the Mauritian professional and legal services market.
Under the Temple Group Graduate Leadership Programme (GLP), successful applicants will be living a real-time business environment that is undergoing a period of change driven by new policy and regulations, experiencing external pressures for transparency and an ever-increasing complexity of alternative courses of law and its structures, and partaking in new initiatives driving changes in the delivery of legal and consulting services, resulting in new thinking, innovation, and a focus on intellectual advancement.
At the end of the year, Temple Group hopes to have directed the natural individual traits of interns to produce the expert line of work that the incumbent, whilst honing the general skills that the profession stands for. These professionals will have the composite skills allowing them to make a productive foray into the job market, and create a positive impact on any potential employer.
Temple Group strongly espouses the role of mentoring fresh professionals in shaping individual careers, which would naturally shape the quality of the Mauritian legal profession at large.
Temple Group strongly believes that the current generation of law graduates can benefit from guidance on how to enter the job market. This is an important process for all graduates which is only made more fruitful by the ability to make an informed decision based on relevant knowledge of potential career paths.
We also strongly believe that personal development and an understanding of the industry’s prospects play a key role in determining how graduates tackle their first foray into the job market.
At the end of the programme, participants will receive a certificate of completion, and will be offered the possibility to being retained for full-time employment at Temple Group, depending on their performance and available positions.
Law Graduates (LLB)
Graduates with a law–based degree (e.g: Law and Economics, Law and Management etc.)
The GLP is 1 year training programme
Participants on the GLP can expect to be on either the “Compliance Track”, “Corporate Services Track” or “Legal Track”. They will benefit from exposure to all tracks based on a rotational plan
The GLP will bring exposure to the participants, on the various elements of Mauritian and International Law, with each intern placed as an understudy to a senior and seasoned member of the profession at Temple Group.
Participants will also be paired with a coach and mentor respectively, providing them with appropriate induction and interaction in associated areas of expertise like compliance, financial services, legal advisory and client servicing.
Participants will be expected to take their own initiative to direct their evolution during the course of the year in a way they feel can bring out the most value. They will submit self evaluations of their experiences and progress, whilst also receiving feedback and working on projects in teams.
