Temple Court, 2, Labourdonnais Street, 11413 Port Louis, Mauritius. (230) 212 9810

According to Section 5A of the Law Practitioners’ Act, a prospective barrister is required to undergo an apprenticeship to qualify as a barrister in Mauritius.

We welcome prospective barristers in our midst during this one year of training, or any part thereof, to build on the knowledge which they have acquired in the course of their studies by having first-hand exposure to practical aspects of the law.

We readily encourage prospective barristers to undertake in-depth research, draft pleadings, prepare arguments and liaise with the parties concerned.

All applications for pupillage should be addressed to the Chambers by filling the application on the website and should be accompanied by their curriculum vitae, copies of the relevant educational and professional qualifications and indicate clearly the intended length of the training.

Our mission is to make this period of training as enjoyable, fruitful and enriching as possible.

APPLICATION FORM FOR PUPILLAGE

Please note that Banymandhub Boolell Chambers (BBC) does not encourage pupillages for shorter periods than 4 months. Applicants will be called for an interview and will be required to demonstrate a genuine interest in commercial and corporate law as a career path before being accepted for a pupillage.

Please fill in answers to all questions below. Typed applications are preferred. Please feel free to use bullet points where relevant.
